Under the Hood

Three engines provide power to the Ford F-350. You can choose which one is right for you.

The standard engine is a gas-powered 6.2L flex-fuel V8 that generates 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.

The second engine option is another gas engine. You’ll get a step up in power with the gas 7.3L V8 engine with 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.

The last engine option is a diesel. With this engine, you’ll get the most torque and horsepower. The available 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel produces 475 horsepower and a whopping 1,050 lb-ft of torque.

All three engines work in tandem with TorqShift® 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission with selectable drive modes that allow you to customize your driving experience. The modes include:

  • Normal
  • Slippery
  • Tow/Haul
  • Eco
  • Deep Sand/Snow

Towing and Payload Capacity

When you choose a truck as powerful as the F-350, you probably want to tow and haul quite a lot. The F-350 is up to the job.

When properly equipped, the F-350 has a maximum towing capacity of 35,750 pounds. This is enough to haul construction equipment, multicar trailers, and large campers.

The F-350’s payload tops 7,000 pounds for a best-in-class maximum of 7,850 pounds when properly configured. To help you load your truck bed, the F-350 has an available tailgate step. The step and handle are stored in the tailgate, and you can open it manually or opt for a version that opens with your key fob.

Getting the Job Done

Since the F-350 is a truck made for getting work done, it has several features designed to do that.

If you end up working late or prefer working at night, your F-350 can help you see with the available exterior LED lighting. With lighting all around the truck and in the bed, you can choose where you work and even continue to work in the truck bed.

To help you tow, the F-350 has an available package called the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System with Pro Trailer Backup Assistâ„¢. Five different systems make up this suite to help make towing easier.

The Pro Trailer Back-Up Assistâ„¢ system provides more control over your trailer via a knob in your cabin. Trailer Reverse Guidance shows you an expanded view via cameras and visual guides, which you can to angle steering wheel movements.
