Ford F-150 Dimensions & Configurations

The 2022 Ford F-150 Platinum and the 2022 Ford F-150 Limited have a lot in common as two of the truck's higher-end trim levels. They offer a variety of configuration options for starters, including the bed size. Both trims are available with a 5.5-foot bed; however, the Platinum can also be had with a 6.5-foot bed.

Both trims come with the SuperCrew cab. Inside this cabin, you’ll get more than 43 inches of legroom in all six seats. To add to the coziness, both trims sport heated front and rear seats as well as 10-way power-adjustable driver seats with leather upholstery.

With either model, you can tow up to 14,000 pounds of trailer weight when they’re equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine and other necessary towing equipment. This engine comes standard in the Limited, while it is an available option for the Platinum.

Plus, you’ll have the option of utilizing Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ to make towing as easy as possible. Again, this technology is standard in the Limited but optional in the Platinum.

Technology Features of the Platinum & Limited

The Platinum and the Limited have a lot in common in terms of technology features. Both come standardly equipped with the SYNC® 4 infotainment system and a 12-inch touchscreen display. Use this system to access your favorite smartphone apps, utilize Bluetooth® wireless connectivity, and get everywhere you need to go, thanks to the voice-activated Navigation System.

Additionally, both models are equipped with an array of Ford Co-Pilot360™ technology systems. You’ll be able to drive with confidence no matter where you go thanks to Automatic High Beam Headlamps, the Lane-Keeping System, and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking.

As the higher trim level, the Limited offers several additional standard features that are only available as add-ons for Platinum, like the 360-Degree Camera Package.

Platinum vs Limited: Performance

The first key difference between the Platinum and the Limited is their engine lineup. The Platinum gives you a choice between three engine options:

  • A standard 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine that offers the best payload capability
  • An available 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine with an impressive 500 lb-ft of torque
  • An available 3.5L PowerBoost™ Full Hybrid V6 engine with an EPA-estimated 25 highway MPG

While the Limited only has two engine options, it makes up for it with its inherent strength. The standard 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine of the Limited churns out an incredible 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque.

One other attribute that sets these two trims apart is the available FX4 Off-Road Package that the Platinum offers. With this system, you’ll be able to conquer all kinds of terrain, such as sand, mud, snow, and more.
