Keeping You Aware

Several high-tech safety features are available to help boost your awareness of what’s around the F-150. Many of these features fall under the Ford Co-Pilot360™ umbrella. Thanks to this driver-assistance technology, you can hit the road with peace of mind knowing this truck will keep you safe.

The following are just a few of the standard and available features in the Ford Co-Pilot360™ suite that help keep you aware.

• Available BLIS^® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Tow Coverage: When a vehicle enters your blind spot, a notification will light up on your side mirror to alert you. This feature can even let you know when a vehicle is alongside your trailer so you can tow your boat or horse trailer down the highway with more confidence.
• Standard Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go: Gone are the days when heavy highway traffic meant you needed to turn off cruise control. Adaptive Cruise Control keeps you at a set distance from the vehicle in front of you, even bringing you to a stop if necessary. It can then resume your set speed once the traffic ahead disperses.
• Standard Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking: You can’t predict what other people will do on the road. However, with this feature, your truck can help you quickly respond. If it senses a vehicle or pedestrian in your path, it’ll alert you, so you can take preventative measures to avoid a collision. If you don’t respond in time, Automatic Emergency Braking can apply the brakes for you.

Keeping You in Control

In addition to the above driver-assistance features, the Ford F-150 offers even more safety technology to help keep you in control. Many of these features are so smooth that you won’t even notice when they’re operating.

• Available Hill Descent Control™: When you’re going downhill with a heavy load, it can take a lot of effort to maintain a set speed. This feature helps you out by maintaining a vehicle speed on a steep decline between 3 MPH and 20 MPH.
• Standard AdvanceTrac^® with Roll Stability Control™: It happens to the best of us; you underestimate how sharp that corner was and head into it a little too quickly. Luckily, this feature works with Curve Control to selectively apply individual brakes and help keep all four wheels firmly on the road.
• Standard Trailer Sway Control: This is another feature that uses technology in the above system. If it senses your trailer swaying, it can reduce the throttle to slow you down, allowing you to regain control and remain on course.
• Standard Four-Wheel Anti-Lock Disc Brakes: The F-150 is equipped with vented disc brakes to offer plenty of stopping power. Additionally, an anti-lock system helps prevent sliding if you brake hard on a slippery surface.
